Aoife McArdle is a writer, director working across film, television, music videos and branded films, known for high-concept storytelling and visually inventive, rhythmic portraits of life. With a background in literature and a long-standing passion for documentary, she applies a photographic eye and an intimate aesthetic to detailed narratives and literary themes while maintaining a sense of spontaneity. For her work on the TV series Severance McArdle was nominated for Best Direction in drama series by the Director's Guild of America and Emmy nominated as a Producer in 2023. For her short form work she has won multiple awards at the D&ADs, Cannes Lions, Ciclope, UKMVAs, British Arrows and Clios.
Her feature film debut, Kissing Candice, premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and Berlinale to critical acclaim.
